The article examines the influence of the information policy of Ukrainian governments during the interwar period on the prerequisites for the establishment of the Ukrainian Press Bureau in Great Britain. The aim of the article is to summarize the experience of the information policy of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Ukrainian State as a factor that influenced the establishment of the Ukrainian Press Bureau in London. The methodology of the study is based on the problem-chronological approach, which made it possible to examine the stages of development of Ukrainian information policy during the interwar period; the comparative method, which was used to compare the practices of organizing information policy and its shortcomings at different stages of the interwar period; and the descriptive method, which made it possible to characterize the prerequisites for the establishment of the Ukrainian Press Bureau in Great Britain. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the systematic analysis of the historical experience of Ukrainian information policy during the interwar period and its influence on attempts to substantially improve the organization of informing the European public about the background, current state, and prospects for resolving the Ukrainian question. The conclusions indicate that the Ukrainian Press Bureau sought to take into account the shortcomings of previous attempts to organize information policy by various ideological currents within the Ukrainian political émigré community. The study demonstrates that an ideal concept was developed for establishing an information bureau as a non-partisan instrument for communicating accurate information about the Ukrainian question to the European, and above all British, public.
