The article thoroughly examines the current directions for optimizing the physical training of cadets in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine under today’s challenging conditions, which are marked by a high level of socio-political tension, military aggression, and the urgent need to adapt the educational process to new realities. Physical training is considered a crucial component of the professional development of cadets, directly affecting their combat readiness, stress resistance, endurance, and ability to respond promptly in extreme situations. The paper analyzes the existing system of physical training in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, identifying its strengths and weaknesses. Emphasis is placed on the necessity of shifting from traditional approaches to innovative methods, including the implementation of functional training, elements of military-applied all-around sports, tactical exercises, CrossFit, as well as combat self-defense and applied sports disciplines. A key aspect of the study is the individualization of physical workloads, taking into account the cadets’ personal physiological and psychological characteristics, which enhances the effectiveness of the training process. The article also addresses the issues of motivation and the formation of a positive attitude toward physical activity, which are essential for consistent self-training and the overall development of cadets’ physical culture. A range of practical recommendations is proposed for improving the educational and training process, which can be implemented in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to form well- prepared, physically resilient, and morally stable professionals. The article examines the relevant directions for optimizing the physical training of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine under current challenges, including martial law, increased criminal threats, and national security risks. It analyzes scientific approaches to improving the physical education of future law enforcement officers, highlights problematic aspects of the training process, and proposes practical ways to adapt the content and methods of physical training to modern conditions. Special attention is given to the development of functional endurance, strength training, stress resistance, and professional readiness of cadets for action in extreme situations.
