The purpose of this study is to analyze the contribution of academic science and library institutions of the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic to meeting the needs of the front and rear during the Great Patriotic War. The focus is on the activities of the Tajik branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the A. Firdousi State Public Library and the Central Scientific Library of the Tajik branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the tasks of which were reoriented in accordance with the tasks of wartime. Particular attention is paid to the forms of participation of libraries in patriotic education, mobilization and educational work among the population and soldiers of the Red Army, the preservation and dissemination of scientific knowledge, as well as ensuring the scientific and medical activities of evacuated institutions. It was established that in an environment of limited resources, science and library organizations of Tajikistan made a significant contribution to the victory and created a reserve for post-war scientific development. The results of the study clarify the role of the humanitarian and scientific infrastructure of the Tajik SSR in the general context of the intellectual front of the Great Patriotic War. This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of these processes based on a wide range of bibliographic and historiographic sources.
