The purpose of the study is to substantiate the role of volunteering and charity as integral axiolants of patriotic education of young people in the Russian Federation. The article is devoted to the study of the phenomena of volunteering and charity in the context of patriotic education of young people. The work describes the concept of the “Ten Facets of Patriotism”, presents traditional and modern prosocial practices. Historical and sociocultural factors that determine the correlation of charity and patriotism are analyzed. The article also presents modern mechanisms and tools for patriotic education of young people used at the federal and regional levels (by the example of the Volgograd region). The scientific novelty of the study lies in analyzing charity and volunteering through an understanding of the mental characteristics and cultural archetypes of Russian society. The result of the work carried out was the justification of the relationship and sociocultural conditioning of charity and patriotism.
