Abstract Using CDC data, we found rising age-adjusted mortality in the U.S. between 1999-2023, particularly diabetes- and trauma-related osteomyelitis. Overall osteomyelitis-related mortality annual percent change (APC) was 3.57%, and the diabetes- and trauma-associated osteomyelitis-related mortality APC were 4.07% and 7.9%, respectively. This highlights the need for improved osteomyelitis prevention and treatment.
