In the Russian Federation, national-level strategies are being implemented to increase physical activity among the population. The systematization of these strategies is relevant and particularly important for public health professionals as part of the national project «Long and Active Life» and the federal project «Health for Everyone». Objective. To analyze current information on regulatory, administrative, and methodological support for strategies to increase physical activity among the population in the Russian Federation. Materials and methods. The regulations governing the development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation, guidelines on physical activity of the population, World Health Organization (WHO) publications on physical activity, and Russian and international publications were reviewed. Results. The main strategic, administrative, and methodological data governing the implementation of the national policy on physical activity in the Russian Federation, in line with WHO recommendations, were systematized. Data on the development of the sports and physical culture industry, as well as on health promotion programs in the workplace, at places of residence, and in schools, were analyzed. Conclusion. The strategies for increasing physical activity approved and currently being implemented in the Russian Federation, presented in the paper, are consistent with the World Health Organization’s recommendations and include a comprehensive set of measures. These measures aim to promote physical culture and sports as important components of a healthy lifestyle and to increase the population’s motivation to engage in them. In addition, it includes the development of sports infrastructure, the intensification of mass sporting-oriented work at all levels, including in the corporate environment.
