Innerpeffray Library commissioned Alder Archaeology Ltd. to undertake a watching brief . Two watching brief visits were made; firstly to observe the reduction of small areas of the site to allow Gridforce matting to be installed and levelled, and secondly to observe the excavation of foundation pads for a steel sculpture and an information panel within the site. During the initial visit, a buffer zone was also positioned to protect the embankment of the Roman Road cutting during works. No archaeological deposits were revealed other than residual debris within landscaping layers. This included a single sherd of Late Medieval pottery, 19th to 20th C pottery sherds and glass, and late 20th C debris.
