The archaeological evaluation comprised the mechanical excavation under archaeological supervision of three 10m x 1.80m trial trenches as specified in the WSI No archaeological features were present within the trenches. The northern most trench revealed a thick deposit of made ground. It is likely that this material was brought in during the 19th century to level up the site which originally sloped down to the north.
