The relevance of the research topic is determined by the increasingly popular role of cultural events as a tool for popularizing regions. The aim of the work is to analyze the influence of festivals on the development of tourism and the urban environment of Murmansk. The study set the following tasks: identifying key areas of urban infrastructure transformation under the influence of event tourism, analyzing the economic effect of cultural events, assessing their contribution to the formation of the region’s image. The study found that festivals contribute to the growth of tourist flow, increased income in the tourism sector, the development of local infrastructure and increased recognition of Murmansk.
