This research demonstrates potent antiproliferative activity in cancer cell lines using novel selenocyanate derivatives, suggesting therapeutic potential.
Twelve novel amide‐linked selenophenol selenocyanates were synthesized by integrating selenocyanates into selenophenol rings via amide bonds with diversified alkyl chain lengths. Their structures were confirmed by 1 H/ 13 C NMR and HR‐MS. The antiproliferation activities of these compounds was assessed using the MTT assay against multiple cancer cell lines. Notably, compound 6h exhibited potent inhibitory effects against SKOV‐3 cells (IC 50 = 1.96 μM), while compound 6l demonstrated significant activity against MCF‐7 (IC 50 = 7.29 μM) and HepG‐2 cells (IC 50 = 6.71 μM). These results suggest that these selenophenol selenocyanate derivatives represent a promising class of small‐molecule selenium‐based therapeutics, warranting further investigations for potential medicinal applications.
