Nickel-catalyzed C(sp2)−H nitration achieves moderate to high yields in 8-aminoquinolines, indicating a sustainable method.
Nickel‐catalyzed C(sp 2 )─H nitration of 8‐aminoquinolines has been developed using AgNO 3 as a nitro source in acetone as a green solvent. The reaction provided moderate to high yield of the nitrated products under mild reaction conditions. Controlled reactions and radical trapping experiments have proven the radical pathway of the reaction. Gram‐scale synthesis, transformation reactions, and recovery of the aryl carboxylic acid derivative, used as an N‐protecting group in the substrate, have enriched the sustainability of this method.
