Planning integrates multiple developments with regional lift stations, implying enhanced wastewater management efficiency.
Over the last several years, the City of Texas City (the City) has been experiencing rapid growth of several large developments along the I-45 corridor. The City's preferred method of sewer conveyance is via a series of smaller development lift stations that feed into larger regional lift stations, which convey flow to the City's singular wastewater treatment plant. In 2020, a route analysis was performed for two phases of the proposed 24″ force main to serve the Lago Mar Lift Station No. 1. During planning and design, two additional developments began design, which would require constructing regional force mains of their own that would share much of the same alignment as the 24″ force main. A plan was developed to manifold the Beacon Point 12″ force main together with the 24″ force main and to install the Lago Mar East 16″ force main parallel to the 24″ force main. Coordination between the developers and the City was required to establish financing and to ensure project schedule constraints were met.
