Numerical simulations reveal improved mixing efficiency in microchannels, suggesting alternating electric field enhances chaotic flow.
This study investigates the enhancement of fluid mixing efficiency in microchannels through chaotic flow induced by alternating electric field electroosmosis. Numerical simulations were conducted by using COMSOL Multiphysics software based on the finite element method to analyze the effects of alternating electric field intensity and frequency on mixing concentration. The results demonstrate that alternating electric field electroosmosis effectively generates chaotic flow within the microchannel, significantly improving mixing efficiency. Increasing the alternating electric field intensity and frequency further enhances the mixing performance.
