This analysis reveals the development of pochvennichestvo in Russian science, indicating its complex philosophical roots and influence on Dostoevsky's narratives.
The paper examines the problem of pochvennichestvo as a philosophical and aesthetic trend and the degree of its development in science. The purpose of the study is to define the concept of pochvennichestvo. The paper presents the approaches to solving the problem, available in Russian science. The concept of pochvennichestvo is assessed as a pseudomorphosis, which contradictorily combines the ideas of "Christian naturalism", Western European organic philosophy and Orthodox anthropology. At the center of the contradiction is the idea of the organic causality of changes in history and man and the idea that human change depends on faith. In the figurative-symbolic and plot structure of the story "Notes from Underground" expresses the idea of the Underground's need for faith, since only faith can lead the hero out of the underground. Dostoevsky's further path will be associated with the presence and transformation of these conceptual principles.
