Discussion reveals the stress-strain state and defect formation under hot isothermal pressing of aluminum alloy AMg6, implying improved production techniques.
The possibility of using the results of studying the stress-strain state of metal in the deformation zone when forming axisymmetric forgings with a flange and an internal cavity made of aluminum alloy AMg6 is discussed. Shaping is performed under hot isothermal pressing conditions, in one operation on a typical hydraulic press with a nominal force of 2.5 MN. The stress-strain state was studied using mathematical modeling based on computational and natural experiments. Defect formation was assessed based on the Gartfield field in the QForm program. An algorithm for predicting defect formation was developed. Its practical application is recommended when developing the technological process for hot isothermal pressing of hollow axisymmetric products with a flange, made of aluminum alloy AMg6.
