Research indicates that hinged clearance variations significantly affect load distribution and stability of hydraulic supports in coal environments.
Regarding the issue of increasing wear in the hinged clearance of four-column hydraulic supports caused by long-term service, which leads to progressively severe destabilization of the support structure. A collision simulation model for hydraulic supports with articulated joint clearances was developed. The load distribution characteristics of hydraulic supports at different hinged positions under the condition of clearance are compared. Investigated the influence mechanisms of top beam impact location variations and clearance magnitudes on the load-bearing configuration and stabilization performance of hydraulic supports. The results indicate that the clearance at the base plate-front link hinge point has the highest degree of weakening in the hydraulic support’s stability. The hinge joint connecting the shield beam and the front link is the most sensitive to variations in clearance. The research results provide critical insights for optimizing the load-bearing reliability of hydraulic supports and ensuring operational safety in coal face environments.
