Correlation analysis reveals that increased temperatures are influencing soil acidity in Voronezh, indicating climate change impacts.
The purpose of the research was to estimate influence of climate changes on soil acidity in the Voronezh region. It is determined that in the region, from 1979 to 2020, long-term average monthly temperatures are tended upward. A speed of average year temperature changes for 42 years is 2.0 °C, and for a growing season – 1.5 оС. Except that, over the time interval, there was a steady increase in precipitation from January to May. The correlation analysis of data allowed establishing that temperature increase caused soil acidification in region, both average year (r = 0.73), and in warm period of a year (r = 0.59). The inverse weak and middle dependence with the year amount of precipitations, precipitations for a warm period, and HTC by Selyaninov is stated.
