Approaches to assessing global competencies, determining tools for their measurement, and trends in the development of global leadership are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the evolution of theories and concepts of leadership, which reflect the needs and trends of social development and, accordingly, lead to the transformation of leader profiles demanded by society, with the dominance of certain characteristics. It is emphasized that new conceptual approaches to leadership are formed in the context of the perception of the world as global, dynamic, and complex, with constant and unpredictable changes, various risks, and threats. Key trends influencing changes in approaches to vocational training and education in the formal and informal education system include the internationalization of education, the development of global labor markets, migration processes, and corresponding changes in educational policies at the national level. The need to consider the strategic trajectory of development, resilience, and adaptability to modern global challenges, as well as a proactive approach in preparing the education sector for potential risks and threats, has been identified. It has been emphasized that social interaction contributes to progress, international communication and cooperation, and global advocacy, and allows for joint global efforts to overcome pandemics, the consequences of climate change, cyberattacks, energy supply problems, and destructive military actions in Ukraine and other countries around the world. New forms of progress require implementing new norms and standards related to respect for human rights, equality, combating violence, and non-discrimination. New approaches to solving global problems require the transformation of leadership as a concept, the cultivation of next-generation leaders, and participatory governance with increased citizen influence on managerial decision-making.
