Study reveals adaptive potential and decorative value of hybrid iris cultivars, suggesting new directions for horticulture.
For the first time in the conditions of the Middle Volga region, the decorative and economically valuable qualities of tall cultivars of hybrid iris from the collection of the Cheboksary Branch of the Main Botanical Garden named after N.V. Tsitsin of the Russian Academy of Sciences were studied in order to determine promising ones for industrial reproduction. A different degree of adaptive potential and decorative value of cultivars has been revealed. The phenological features are considered. Quantitative indicators have been determined – the height of the peduncle, the length of the leaf, the diameter of the flower. Observations were made on the general condition of plants, the incidence of diseases and the rate of growth. The forms characterized by high stability in the specific conditions are highlighted.
