This observational analysis indicates that Gepaseif improves recovery in cats with hepatitis, suggesting better treatment regimens.
The article presents the results of research on the comparative effectiveness of complex treatment regimens for hepatitis in cats. Of the liver diseases in cats, the most common are hepatitis (22.9%), hepatopathy (13.5%), metastatic tumors (12.8%) and lipidosis (11%). Consequently, the most common liver diseases in small domestic animals are acute or chronic hepatitis, fatty degeneration, which can lead to acute liver failure. Currently, the pharmaceutical industry produces a wide range of drugs intended for the treatment of various liver pathologies based on natural raw materials. Hepatoprotective drugs are mainly available in the form of suspensions and tablets for oral administration. This significantly reduces the bioavailability of drugs and complicates the administration of the drug to sick animals, and consequently reduces the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. In this regard, the company NVTS Agrovetzashchita LLC has developed an injectable form of the drug Gepaseif, which contains an extract of milk thistle fruits in micellar form, vitamin E, a solvent and a water-based solvent. The development of effective methods for the treatment of hepatitis in cats is one of the promising areas of veterinary science and practice. On the basis of the veterinary clinic of LLC Irbis, a study was conducted on the therapeutic and cost-effectiveness of including the drug Gepaseif (NPC Agrovetzashita, Russia) in a comprehensive therapeutic treatment regimen for chronic hepatitis in cats. Based on the research results, it was found that the scheme using the drug "Gepaseif" was therapeutically more effective than the scheme used at the enterprise and allowed to reduce the recovery time of animals. The developed scheme of complex therapy contributed to a more pronounced correction of hepatoprotective syndrome in sick animals by improving the clinical status, optimizing hematological and biochemical parameters, and normalizing detoxification functions of the liver, although it was less economically effective.
