This analysis demonstrates improved wear and corrosion resistance in nitrided austenitic steel, suggesting optimal treatment methods.
The study results of 08Х18Н10 and 12Х18Н10Т (in Russian writing) steels after high-temperature gas nitriding, using various saturating media (mixtures of nitrogen with argon): microstructure, microhardness of the surface layer, as well as indicators of wear resistance and corrosion resistance are presented. Rational modes of chemical-technical treatment have been determined to achieve various physical-mechanical properties of the resulting nitrided layer.
