Field tests show welded joints of low-alloy steels provide high corrosion resistance, suggesting improved pipeline durability.
Field tests of welded pipes made of low-alloy steels have been carried out, which showed that the welded joints were not inferior to the base metal in terms of corrosion resistance. On the basis of an electric welded pipe of a billet made of 05ХГБ steel, a technology has been developed that makes it possible to obtain connecting parts of pipelines of the K52 strength group and high corrosion resistance in mass production conditions. The structural state of low-carbon bainites is shown, which provides a combination of high mechanical properties with high corrosion resistance in aggressive oilfield environments.
