This paper introduces a novel dual-coil architecture to optimize power output in self-powered sensors, indicating improved efficiency.
The free‐standing magnetic field energy harvester (FSMFEH) holds significant promise for powering contact line icing and galloping monitoring sensors in self‐sustained applications. However, a critical challenge arises from the wide variability in sensor load resistance during operation, which directly impacts the harvester's power output capability. To address this limitation, this paper introduces a novel reconfigurable FSMFEH system incorporating dual coils and a three‐arm rectifier. The proposed dual‐coil‐three‐arm (DCTA) architecture enables four distinct operating modes through controlled switching of rectifier MOSFETs, allowing dynamic mode selection to optimize performance under varying load conditions. Experimental validation using laboratory prototypes confirms the system's efficacy: at a power line current of 100 A, the harvester sustains an output power exceeding 27 mW across a load resistance range of 100–4000 Ω.
