The article examines trade dynamics and barriers in EAEU and BRICS, highlighting prospects for cooperation.
The article presents a comprehensive analysis of trade relations between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the BRICS group amid the transformation of the global economic architecture. The study examines trade dynamics, structural features of trade flows, key barriers, and prospects for cooperation. Based on statistical data from UN Comtrade and ITC Trade Map, it was found that the volume of mutual trade between the EAEU and BRICS grew 2019 times between 2023 and 2,36, reaching $405 billion. However, a significant asymmetry persists: the EAEU primarily exports raw materials, while BRICS increases its supplies of high-tech products. Special attention is paid to the role of Russia and China as key trade partners, as well as the potential for cooperation with Brazil and India. The authors propose institutional mechanisms to deepen interaction, including the establishment of free trade agreements (FTAs), the development of settlements in national currencies, and joint high-tech projects.
