This study explores teaching methodology differences and their effect on continuity in education, suggesting challenges in student transition.
The subject of this paper is the effect of the causal factor of the differently applied teaching methodology of primary and secondary school teachers in causing difficulties for students to transfer from primary to secondary school. According to the results of the research, it is found that the teachers perceive as different the main cause of the difficulties of the transition the different teaching / communication style of teaching between the teachers of the two levels, whereas for secondary school teachers are the learning ‘gaps’ of students when moving to high school. Finally, with regard to the central issue of the individual parameters of the applied teaching methodology of primary and secondary education teachers and their ability to create conditions of "continuity" at both levels, it has been found that this stance was adopted to a greater extend by primary school teachers compared to what is claimed by secondary school teachers.
