Analysis reveals shortcomings in history's teaching process in Greece, highlighting the need for interactive methods and public historiography.
In the schools of Secondary Education, in Greece, many students consider that History is not an important subject, mainly because of the sterile frontal teaching process through the one established textbook. At the same time, the constant tendency of students turns towards technology, in contrast to which History imagines a completely different subject, as, basically, it is formed on the mechanism of memorizing facts and situations and not on observation, research, application and ascertainment, methods that apply to the positive, mainly, courses. Leaving behind the request of the German historicism of the 19th century. with the continuous gathering of sources for highlighting the cause-causal relationship with the aim of the true historical recording of the events, the modern lesson of History, as a whole, in the school classroom, has the need to decode every element, material and immaterial. In addition, the dimension of public historiography is also raised. The most interesting proposition is the creation of a documentary.
