Enantioselective synthesis achieves 99% yield and 95% enantiomeric excess in biaryl atropisomers, suggesting high efficiency.
Herein, an enantioselective synthesis of 18 O‐labeled phenolic biaryl atropisomers via Cu‐catalyzed asymmetric ring‐opening of cyclic diaryliodoniums using H 2 18 O as the nucleophile is reported, achieving up to 99% yield, 95% enantiomeric excess (ee), and 86% 18 O incorporation. Subsequent functionalization of both the phenolic moiety and aryl iodide proceeds with retention of isotopic integrity and optical purity.
