Newly documented caddisflies show diverse habitats in India, highlighting the region's biodiversity.
Two species of Trichoptera were recorded for the first time from the geographical limits of India: Oecetis tripunctata (Fabricius, 1793) and Marilia sumatrana (Ulmer, 1951), belonging families Leptoceridae and Odontoceridae, respectively. Both species have a wide distribution in India, with O. tripunctata having been reported from Dihang-Dibang Biosphere Reserve (Arunachal Pradesh), Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, whereas M. sumatrana is recorded from Dihang-Dibang Biosphere Reserve (Arunachal Pradesh) and Manas National Park, Assam. Line drawings of both species are given based on material collected from the geographical limits of India.
