This research develops a web-based solution that enhances the clearance process, reducing delays for students and improving administrative efficiency.
The clearance process for graduating students in higher education institutions has traditionally relied on manual, paper-based procedures, which are often time-consuming, prone to errors, and lack real-time communication between departments. These inefficiencies result in delays, misplaced documents, and bottlenecks in the issuance of certificates and transcripts. This research focuses on the development of a web-based clearance system to address these challenges by streamlining the clearance process. The system centralises the clearance activities across various departments, allowing students to monitor their progress in real-time and complete clearance tasks efficiently. Developed using ExpressJS for the backend and ReactJS for the frontend, the system integrates key functionalities such as payment verification, document submission, and automated notifications. Unified Modelling Language (UML) diagrams were used to model the system's functional requirements. The results demonstrate that the system significantly reduces clearance processing time, minimises human errors, and improves administrative efficiency. This approach ensures cost savings, eliminates unnecessary delays, nd enhances the overall graduation experience for students while maintaining the integrity and reliability of the clearance process.
