This study seeks to use the biomimetic methodology to create a redesign of the wheelbarrow, based on both the shape and the lever system of the Hercules beetle. This product was intended to experiment with biomimetics in the classroom. During development, concepts were created that aimed at better usability for an independent producer, since machinery systems are already available on the market. Through biomimetics, the aim was to create a product that is affordable in terms of manufacturing cost, while at the same time functional and safe for use by a few workers, promoting ergonomics in the use of the equipment.
