Hybrid fiber-wireless architecture integrates quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography, demonstrating resilience and low latency.
With the emergence of quantum computing, traditional communication infrastructures face critical security challenges. This paper proposes a hybrid quantum-ready Fiber-Wireless (FiWi) network architecture that integrates Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). Using NS-3 simulations across urban, suburban, and rural scenarios, results show that latency remained under 20 ms, QKD key rates exceeded 1.2 kbps, and PQC processing was feasible at the wireless edge. The architecture demonstrated resilience under disruptions and supported dual-layered security with minimal performance trade-offs. These findings confirm that quantum-resilient FiWi networks are viable for future-safe communication.
