Observational analysis examines the impact of ultrasonic hardening parameters on surface roughness and residual stresses in GCr15 bearing steel, indicating potential improvements.
The study results concerning the influence of technological parameters of ultrasonic hardening treatment mode on surface roughness, sign and magnitude of residual stresses in the near-surface layer of GCr15 bearing steel subjected to preliminary laser quenching are presented. Appropriate regression equations were obtained that make it possible to determine the optimal values of the static clamping force and the amplitude of vibrations of an ultrasonic tool, the processing speed to achieve the required values of surface roughness and residual compression stresses. As a result of the application of the methodology of the equal response surface, the optimal values of the technological parameters of the ultrasonic hardening treatment mode were determined.
