Genome assembly reveals 22,577 protein-coding genes in Silurus aristotelis, indicating a complex genetic structure.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly of an individual <ns3:italic>Silurus aristotelis</ns3:italic> (Aristotle’s catfish; Chordata; Actinopteri; Siluriformes; Siluridae). The genome sequence has a total length of 800.10 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.89%) is scaffolded into 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has been assembled, with a length of 16.52 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 22 577 protein-coding genes.</ns3:p>
