Family economic planning in financial management is very important in a family institution. In addition, the Malaysian community is still going through the endemic phase of COVID-19 and is facing family economic turmoil and financial instability due to certain factors. Hence, the good story of the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) will present techniques and planning as a preliminary preparation for managing finances, especially in the aspect of a family. The objective of this study is to study the interpretation of verses in surah Yusuf related to family financial management planning according to the perspective of the Quran. Then analyze the financial planning techniques so that they can be applied in family institutions. The methodology of the study uses qualitative methods on a case study basis. Collection of study data through the study of the library based on primary sources from the books of interpretation and secondary sources consisting of journal articles. Semi-structural interviews were also held selectively involving financial management agents from takaful protection agencies. Analysis of the study data is carried out inductively, deductively and document analysis. The findings found that the Prophet Yusuf's(pbuh) financial planning strategy coincided with the concept of savings and investments, food security and family takaful contribution protection alternatives in preparation for the challenges of family economic turmoil. Hence, the knowledge and awareness of family financial management planning based on the theory of financial management of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) should be given exposure to be disseminated in the community as a practical guideline and solution in planning family financial management.
