Integration of Quranic Knowledge and Engineering Field: An Analysis Study on the Benefits of Water in Increasing Crude Oil Production

Allah created everything to facilitate the affairs of human life and prove His power. One of the signs of His great power is that Allah created water that can be used to increase the production of crude oil in the field of petroleum engineering. This study was conducted to analyze the benefits of water in raising crude oil production through an integration study between the knowledge of the Qur'an and the engineering field. The research of alQuran verses related to rainwater has been carried out through a qualitative method by collecting verses related to rain in the al-Quran and analyzing the translation through the interpretation of previous scholars. Tafsir Fi Zilal al-Quran, written by Sayyid Qutb, is used as a primary source for researchers to examine the meaning and understand the content of the relevant verses. The findings are also supported by scientific evidence by referring to secondary sources. This study uses a descriptive analysis method that involves inductive and deductive analysis. Researchers found that rainwater that falls to the earth will absorb into the soil and be stored as groundwater. This water is then used in the field of petroleum engineering through the method of water injection at injection wells to increase the production of crude oil at production wells. This writing can open the eyes of every Muslim about the vast space of interpretation of the al-Quran to convince them that the al-Quran is a miracle that does not contradict the theories of science.
