This article discusses the formation of competencies in future teachers of Ukrainian language and literature, highlighting integration with linguistic and cultural contexts.
This article examines the formation of subject-specific professional competencies of future teachers of Ukrainian language and literature in the context of updated educational standards and the challenges of modern society. It is noted that, under the conditions of full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian language has become not only an object of study but also a symbol of national unity and resistance, which determines its strategic role in the educational process. In the context of Ukraine's educational policy («Education of Winners», state standards, the Concept of Profile Education), the modernized content of educational components that ensures the development of key competencies of future educators is analyzed. The author identifies linguistic and communicative competence as a fundamental component of professional training. Its structure is revealed through informational, linguistic, linguodidactic, speech, foreign language, linguocultural, and literary components. The article provides characteristics of each component and proposes examples of practice-oriented tasks that contribute to their effective formation (e.g., creating an information portfolio, a lesson fragment, interactive speech exercises, interdisciplinary projects). The specifics of mastering each component within the disciplines «Methodology of Teaching Ukrainian Language», «Modern Ukrainian Literary Language», «History of Ukrainian Literature», and others are outlined. Particular attention is paid to the integration of linguistic and literary training with the culturological context, which contributes to the formation of future teachers' national identity. The prospects of using the foreign language component as a tool for developing bilingual professional competence are also highlighted. The conclusions emphasize the necessity of continuous development of teachers' professional skills as an important condition for forming linguistic resilience, professional mobility, and educational effectiveness in the transforming conditions of Ukrainian society and education.
