Observational analysis reveals flicker issues affecting electrical energy quality in networks, indicating challenges during melting processes.
The study of the quality of electrical energy is an integral part of the technical and economic assessment of the production process for various enterprises using electrical energy for melting various materials. The paper presents data on the study of the quality of electrical energy in the network during operation of the electromagnetic technological reactor in various melting modes. The electromagnetic technological reactor is designed to melt silicon-containing rocks, such as basalt, as well as ash from a waste incineration plant and ash and slag from thermal power plants. Melting of dispersed and fine-grained materials requires high-quality electrical energy to ensure uninterrupted operation of the equipment and the required production volumes. At the same time, the reactor itself in operation has a negative impact on the quality of electrical energy in the network. The assessment of the quality of electrical energy was carried out based on data on short-term and long-term flicker doses. In addition to the specified parameters, data on the full nominal and full maximum powers are provided, the maximum active and reactive powers are determined. The short-circuit power and existing resistances, including active and reactive ones, are determined. Based on the obtained data, conclusions were made about the quality of electrical energy in the power grid.
