This comparative study reveals significant differences in multicultural acceptance and global citizenship between multicultural and non-multicultural middle school students.
Objectives This study aimed to compare and analyze the levels of multicultural acceptance and global citizenship between multicultural and non-multicultural students in middle schools, identifying differences and commonalities in perceptions between the two groups. Methods An online survey was conducted with 2,995 middle school students in Province J. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 29.0 program through frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and t-tests. Results Overall, multicultural students demonstrated higher levels of multicultural acceptance and global citizenship than their non-multicultural peers, and these differences were statistically significant. Conclusions These findings suggest that the experiences of growing up within diverse cultural backgrounds can have a positive impact on multicultural awareness. Therefore, it is essential to integrate teaching and learning activities that promote understanding of various cultural perspectives and values into the school curriculum.
