Analysis identifies key factors for successful adaptation of agricultural enterprises to the digital economy, suggesting innovative strategies and state support.
The digital transformation of the economy opens new opportunities for agricultural enterprises (AEs) to improve efficiency and competitiveness. The article is dedicated to analyzing innovative development strategies for AEs within the context of digitalization. The aim of the study is to identify key factors and mechanisms for the successful adaptation of AEs to the conditions of the digital economy. The methodology includes a literature review, analysis of statistical data, expert interviews, and scenario modeling. The empirical base comprises data from 120 AEs of various ownership forms and specializations in five regions of the Russian Federation from 2018 to 2023. The results demonstrate that the implementation of digital technologies (IoT, Big Data, AI) allows AEs to optimize production processes, reduce costs by 15-20%, and increase yields by 10-15%. At the same time, investments in R&D (on average 2.5% of revenue), development of human resource potential (70% of companies), and cooperation within agro-industrial clusters (45%) are critically important. Three typical innovative strategies for AEs were identified considering their resource capabilities. The need for state support for the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex, including subsidies and tax incentives, was shown. Prospective directions for further research were outlined.
