Case report highlights a rare epibulbar choristoma with cartilage, indicating unique diagnostic features.
Choristomas are masses of normal tissue found in abnormal locations. Epibulbar choristomas, also known as lipodermoid cyst or dermolipoma, are a non-neoplastic condition and usually seen at the junction of the conjunctiva and the cornea (corneoscleral limbus). The different choristomas seen in the conjunctiva are epibulbar dermoids, dermolipoma, and complex choristomas. Complex choristomas are rare, with the presence of cartilage being rarest. We present a case of a 17-year-old male who presented with a nodular mass in the limbus and reduced vision in the right eye. The mass was excised and histopathological examination was performed and was diagnosed as lipochondroid choristoma.
