Quantitative analysis reveals strong links between teaching tenure, pedagogical skills, and student outcomes in AJ&K.
This research article explores the critical role that pedagogical skills and teaching tenure play in shaping student outcomes at the higher education level in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K). Drawing directly from a comprehensive doctoral thesis conducted across public universities in AJ&K, this study narrows the focus to evaluate how teaching experience and pedagogical competencies influence academic achievement. Using a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach, data were gathered from 190 faculty members and 880 students within the Faculty of Social Sciences. Analysis via SPSS (T-Test, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation) revealed strong, positive relationships between pedagogical proficiency, years of experience, and student academic performance. Findings advocate for structured professional development and targeted pedagogical training to amplify teaching effectiveness and student success. This study offers essential insights for policymakers, academic leaders, and educational stakeholders in enhancing teacher quality to drive meaningful learning outcomes.
