Collection captures the academic achievements of lyudmila korabel’nikova, highlighting her contributions to music history and her works on tchaikovsky.
The present collection of materials is the initial result of gathering, describing, and understanding the scholarly heritage of Lyudmila Korabel’nikova (1930–2023), an employee of the Music History Department of the State Institute for Art Studies for 55 years (June 1968 — May 2023). The collection of texts consists of three sections: an introductory article (Preamble), a list of scholarly writings and responses to them, and the first publication of her large-¬scale “Introduction” to the project “P. I. Tchaikovsky Encyclopedia” (2010), which was then planned to be published as a two-volume edition. The first two sections are being published in the current issue, while the third will appear in the next (33rd) issue of our journal. The analytical examination of Korabel’nikova’s achievements is structured as an expanded commentary to the list of her writings which is compiled for the first time. Korabel’nikova’s key works include her PhD and ScD dissertations, the three-¬volume publication of S. I. Taneyev’s “Diaries”, the thematic and bibliographic index of P. I. Tchaikovsky’s works, as well as the projects “Russian Musical Diaspora” and “P. I. Tchaikovsky Encyclopedia”. Based on a comparison of biographical and publishing information, an analysis of the goals, objectives, and stylistic features of Korabel’nikova’s writings, assumptions and conclusions are made about the features of her character as a person and scholar.
