This paper uncovers how combining blockchain technology and zero trust architecture improves identity and access management, suggesting robust defenses.
The escalation of sophisticated cyber threats has rendered traditional security models inadequate, necessitating the adoption of innovative frameworks like Blockchain Technology and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). Blockchain ensures data integrity through decentralization, while ZTA enforces strict access controls, eliminating implicit trust within networks. This paper focuses on the convergence of these technologies, particularly in identity and access management (IAM), where blockchain powered decentralized identities (DIDs) enhance authentication and reduce reliance on centralized identity providers. By integrating blockchain with Zero Trust principles, organizations can mitigate identity fraud, insider threats, and unauthorized access. This study explores real-world applications, challenges, and the future potential of these innovations in securing digital ecosystems.
