The pharmaceutical industry has a profound impact on environmental sustainability, stemming from its resource-intensive manufacturing and the disposal of hazardous chemical waste (Gibson et al., 2021). This dissertation examines sustainable practices in pharmaceutical manufacturing, focusing on strategies to transition towards “green pharmacy.” By addressing challenges such as resource depletion, pollution, and inefficiencies, the study highlights innovative solutions, including the principles of green chemistry, waste reduction methods, energy-efficient technologies, and lifecycle assessments (Anastas Clark et al., 2019). Regulatory frameworks and international guidelines, such as those by the EPA and ICH, are discussed to underscore their role in fostering sustainability (Constable et al., 2021; ICH, 2022). Furthermore, the study explores successful case studies from leading pharmaceutical companies adopting renewable energy and solvent recovery systems (Horváth et al., 2004). While signific
