Theoretical analysis reveals gaps in socialization practices for adolescents in public associations, highlighting the need for effective volunteer programs.
The presented article is devoted to the issues of socialization of adolescents. The authors consider the possibility of socializing school students by means of children’s public associations. In the course of the theoretical study, contradictions were revealed between: the presence of public demand for a highly socialized - adapted, active personality and insufficient work on systematization of this work in the conditions of comprehensive schools; the demand for socially oriented volunteer practices and the lack of methodological developments and methodological recommendations in this area. Such concepts as “socialization” and “volunteering (volunteering)” are disclosed. The criteria for socialization of adolescents in the process of volunteer activities are identified: social activity; leadership qualities; positive experience of volunteer (volunteering) activities. The obtained theoretical conclusions were tested in the process of experimental work. At the ascertaining stage of the experimental work, an input control was carried out to determine the level of socialization of adolescents. At the final stage, a repeated control was carried out. Comparison of the obtained results made it possible to state positive changes according to the identified criteria. In addition, during the reflection process, teenagers noted that mastering the skills of social activity (communication skills, responsibility, conflict-free, organization) can become a guarantee of their success in the future. Also, teenagers realized not only the importance of volunteer activities for society, but also its potential for self-development and self-realization. As the main mechanism for socialization of teenagers in the context of children’s public associations, a school volunteer association (squad) was identified, implementing a specially developed program for the socialization of teenagers in the process of volunteer activities of children’s public associations. The effectiveness of the presented program is confirmed by the results of the study.
