Comparative analysis reveals Muller-Kauffmann broth enhances salmonella accumulation, suggesting optimal media for veterinary use.
Comparative studies have been conducted of the accumulation of test strains of Salmonella bacteria and salmonella isolates isolated from biological material of animals and birds using selective nutrient media of domestic and imported production. The best result in determining the efficiency of accumulation was clearly demonstrated when using Muller-Kauffmann broth, RVS broth, MSRV medium, therefore their use in veterinary laboratory practice will be preferable in the study of highly contaminated samples with a low content of salmonella. With equal growth properties of selenite broths of all producers, selectivity is more pronounced in broths produced by FBIS SRCAMB and СondaLab. For the successful isolation of host-adapted salmonella from biological and pathological animal material, it is recommended to use two selective storage nutrient media, with the management of paired crops and their simultaneous incubation at different.
