Cross-sectional analysis finds strong links between discipline and employee morale, suggesting improvements are necessary.
This study examines the impact of discipline on employee productivity in the Delta State Civil Service. Using a cross-sectional research design and survey method, data were collected from 367 respondents and analyzed with Pearson correlation and SPSS. Results reveal a significant positive relationship between disciplinary procedures and employee morale (r = 0.887, p < 0.05) and between discipline and employee productivity (r = 0.887, p < 0.05). The study identifies challenges such as ineffective leadership, deficient supervision, and violation of employees’ rights, which hinder productivity. It recommends proactive leadership, improved disciplinary procedures, and employee-friendly policies to enhance productivity.
