Experiment integrates distributed strain sensing and distributed acoustic sensing, indicating strain changes during fracture propagation.
Based on a large-scale physical simulation experimental device for true triaxial hydraulic fracturing, a simulation technology for adjacent well monitoring using distributed optical fibers has been designed to identify the transfer of fractures to fiber strains. This technology integrates Distributed Strain Sensing (DSS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) systems. It allows for efficient and scientific evaluation of the influence patterns of fiber strain evolution during fracture propagation, revealing the transmission characteristics of strain from the formation to the optical fiber. This experimental technique provides valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms and improving the accuracy of fracture monitoring in practical applications.
