Research integrates a demonstration exam into quality assessment for geography teachers, highlighting methodological readiness in evaluation.
The article is devoted to the problem of integrating a professional (demonstration) exam into the quality assessment system for higher pedagogical education programs. The relevance of the authors’ appeal to this problem is due to the need to improve the system of assessing the quality of professional training of future teachers, conducting an independent assessment with the involvement of employers. The authors present the experience of testing a new form of intermediate certification based on the results of pedagogical practice in the methodology of teaching geography. The focus of attention is on the substantive aspects of the demonstration exam, the issues of developing examination materials. Based on the methodological provisions on the professional (methodological) thinking of a subject teacher, the authors determine the subject-methodological readiness as a result to be checked and evaluated during the exam and substantiate the algorithm for developing assignments. The provisions on the methodological case as an element of analytical technology are used as the basis for the descriptive part of the examination materials. To illustrate, examples of tasks are given and the activities of students at the preparation stage and during the exam itself are described. In line with the competence approach, the authors formulate the criteria that served as the main one for conducting an independent assessment of future teachers for professional activity.
