Field experiments assessed basic tillage with noninversing plows, indicating potential energy savings and environmental benefits.
On the fields of farms in the Saratov region, located in various agro-climatic conditions and on different types of soils, long-term experimental researches have been conducted: the technology of basic strip tillage with a PBFR-5SHCH noninversing plow, then the combined technology of deep loosening and chiseling the soil with a PBFR-5 noninversing plow, followed by improvement of the quality of pulverization and structure of arable layer, using the combined technology of deep loosening and chiseling by the PBS-16 noninversing plow. The possibility of developing a new energy-saving and environmentally friendly technology for basic tillage has been established relative to the plowing technology implemented by moldboard plows.
